Yupoo in one paragraph

Yupoo (又拍, “yòupāi”) is a Chinese photo-hosting service from Hangzhou that lets anyone create albums of images with a short address such as seller.x.yupoo.com. It started as a general photo site, but over the last decade it became the place where thousands of small Chinese clothing, shoe and accessory sellers publish their catalogues, because it is cheap, handles thousands of photos per album and is easy to share abroad. Yupoo itself sells nothing and runs no checkout. When people say “Yupoo seller”, they mean a third-party merchant who uses Yupoo as a shop window and takes payment somewhere else.

That is the single most important thing to understand: Yupoo is the catalogue, not the store. Search demand reflects how many people have learned the name. “Yupoo” alone gets about 14,800 searches a month in the United States, 12,100 in France, 9,900 in Brazil, 8,100 in Spain and 6,600 each in Italy and Poland, according to Semrush data from 30 October 2026, with roughly 123,000 worldwide.

How a Yupoo album is organised

A typical seller album has a front page with contact details (WeChat, WhatsApp, Discord or Instagram), then categories such as hoodies, jackets, shoes or bags, each holding folders for individual products. A folder usually contains 10 to 40 photos: product shots, close-ups of labels and stitching, sometimes a size chart and occasionally photos of the item on a scale. Folder titles often carry a price in yuan and a short code. Some albums are public; others ask for a password, which the seller hands out to customers. Why buyers use Yupoo albums

For shoppers outside China, an album is a compact way to see a seller's whole range with many real photos, which marketplace listings often lack. That is why Reddit forums, TikTok “finds” videos and spreadsheets link to albums. Sellers like them because one link shows everything and works across borders without translation. Albums also carry risks: they can be copied, they can disappear overnight when Yupoo restricts them, and photos can be borrowed from other sellers.

Who the big Yupoo sellers are

A few hundred album names get steady searches. In our six-country data the leaders are Yolo/Yolo66 (sneakers), GOAT (UK streetwear), DragonRep (skate and streetwear basics), Husky (tracksuits and fleece) and Thunder (designer clothing). Pika, the album this site started from, sits at about 3,050 searches a month across the six markets. The best Yupoo sellers table ranks 23 names and links to a page for each.

Is Yupoo legal and safe?

Using Yupoo to look at photos is not a crime anywhere we know of, and the site itself is a legitimate photo host. The legal issue is what some albums sell: many list goods that copy protected brands, and customs authorities in the EU, UK and US can seize such parcels. In 2024, several brands sued the shopping agent Pandabuy in New York, describing how it connected buyers with Chinese platforms including Yupoo. Looking is fine; buying branded copies risks seizure, and payment method decides how protected you are.

How people actually buy from a Yupoo album

Because albums have no checkout, buyers either (1) ask the seller for a Weidian or Taobao listing and buy it through a shopping agent, (2) pay the seller privately, or (3) use a direct buying service. Most album sellers keep their actual product listings on Weidian, a mobile storefront platform, or on Taobao. Factories behind them often list wholesale on 1688. Searches such as “yupoo app download” (about 70 a month), “yupoo downloader” and “yupoo image downloader” (about 100) show that many people want to save album photos. Yupoo's own mobile app is aimed at Chinese users, and third-party browser extensions that bulk-download albums come and go. Yupoo started as a general-purpose photo service for Chinese users, much like early Western photo hosts. Its cheap storage and support for huge albums made it attractive to small clothing and shoe merchants, who needed somewhere to show hundreds of products without building a website. As shopping agents grew in the 2010s and early 2020s, foreign buyers discovered these albums through forums, and the word “Yupoo” became shorthand for a seller's catalogue. The 2024 collapse of Pandabuy and the 2026 closures of CNFans and ACBuy did not reduce interest in albums: searches for “yupoo” in our data rose through 2026, peaking in the summer months in the US.

How to read an album like an experienced buyer

1. Start on the front page. Note the contact methods and any announcements about new albums or passwords.
2. Use categories, not scrolling. Large albums have thousands of folders; categories save time.
3. Open the size chart photo first. If a folder has none, ask for one before getting attached to the item.
4. Compare folder dates and codes. Recent folders reflect current stock; old ones may be sold out.
5. Look for consistency. Same backgrounds and watermarks across folders suggest the photos are the seller's own.
